A QC log does not make treated water “ready to drink” by itself. Water used for consumption still needs the applicable standard, commissioning, sanitation, consumable records, representative sampling, and laboratory verification.

Keep each outlet baseline as the comparison point, such as average TDS and hardness after commissioning, not only the maximum limit. When the water source changes, pipe work is done, flooding occurs, a tank is replaced, or customers complain, open a corrective-action ticket and resample from the same point.

In foodservice, water quality can change after passing through a toren, pipe, or internal treatment. Take samples from at least 3 points:
- Incoming: after the meter/early building entry (before the internal filter)
- Main after-treatment: after filter/softener/RO/UV (if applicable)
- Product critical point:

- espresso/coffee brewer line
- ice machine line
- steamer/boiler line
- raw material wash water
